Three important things I've learned: Complete the assignments weekly, don't wait till the last minute. They generally only take around 5-10 minutes if you do them one at a time. Sign up for a newsletter if you aren't keeping up with the news. Every class will start with a "What is going on in the news"? portion. Come to class. It's easy to miss days because the class isn't difficult however, things add up, and you don't want to lose points for attendance. Advice: Trash in, trash out. What you put into this class determines what you get out of it. The more effort you put into completing your resume, applying for jobs, and in general, the more you'll get out of this class.
The topic I'm most interested in learning more about is Moral Outsourcing in AI . Moral outsourcing in AI is the idea of letting machines make ethical decisions on our behalf. For example, autonomous vehicles make split-second decisions in the case of an accident. As AI is becoming more integrated into areas such as autonomous vehicles, criminal justice, and healthcare, the overall question I am looking to investigate is who is responsible when things go wrong. I will research how humans will draw the line between helpful automation and a detachment from human judgment and whether to hold AI and the people behind it accountable for moral failures.
